Are 26" wheels right at age 11?
Age alone is not enough. A 11-year-old can be shorter or taller than average. If their height is outside 135-150 cm, pick the size from our guide by centimetres, not years.
My 11-year-old is taller than their peers. What should I do?
If they exceed 150 cm, consider wheels larger than 26". If they are under 135 cm, a smaller size will give more control. Height beats age when choosing a bike.
What gear do you recommend for a 11-year-old?
A properly sized helmet, gloves and knee pads for first rides. Check brakes and tyre pressure before every outing. At age 11, adult supervision still matters in traffic and on new trails.
